Michael Holden, B.E.S, FCIP
PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Michael has 37 years of experience in the insurance industry holding a variety of dynamic roles across different disciplines in the marketplace. He started his career with a managing general agency, Eastern Marine Underwriters, in the niche marine cargo insurance market as a Marine Underwriter and Claims Technician while also achieving in his early years the honour of top graduating marine insurance student in Canada.
Michael transitioned not long thereafter to the insurance brokerage role where he took over the reins of a national brokerage, Nacora Insurance Brokers, with an expansive international footprint and spent much of his time in the latter years in the development of the South and Central American markets.
Michael then accepted a senior role in the national claims adjusting business and assumed the role of President and CEO of McLarens Canada, growing the business substantially and eventually changing the company name to Granite Claims while working very closely with private equity markets and acquiring seventeen competing firms. Michael also oversaw the eventual sale of the company from his dual role in the private equity’s holding company, Granite Global Services.
Throughout this tenure, Michael cofounded another insurance related service company, Subrogation Group Ltd., and ran it simultaneously for five years with his partners prior to selling it to a large national organization. Shortly thereafter, Michael opened another national adjusting firm, Sedgwick Canada, on behalf of a large U.S. entity and expanded the company rapidly from only a handful of individuals to over five hundred in a matter of years. Michael eventually left this organization and offered executive consulting services for two years to large national and international private equity firms and insurance related entrepreneurial firms looking to expand their current footprint.
Currently, Michael is the President and CEO of Specialty Risk & Intelligence Services Inc. (SRIS), a specialty risk and intelligence services firm offering a suite of niche services to the national and international marketplace.
