Executive Team
& Advisory Board

George Kalopsis, CIP

CHAIRMAN

George is a seasoned executive with thirty-five years of executive and operational management experience. He has directed the operations of complex, multi-location organizations – guiding each company’s strategic business units as well as maintaining an unencumbered operating status with federal and provincial regulators. He has directed senior management teams in the establishment of overall strategic direction; development and execution of business/financial plans as well as driving organizational excellence.

George commenced his career with Federated Insurance, eventually becoming the company’s Canadian Claims Manager.

With Pafco Insurance Company, he took on progressively senior and executive Claims positions within its Canadian and U.S. insurance operations; eventually becoming the company’s Vice-President, Claims.

In 2001, George joined Echelon General Insurance Company and transitioned into executive management exclusively. At that time, he helped cofound the company and ultimately became the President and Chief Operating Officer of what became Canada’s preeminent nonstandard auto and specialty risk insurance company. In 2005, said carrier became a publicly traded entity and George took on the additional responsibilities inherent with this status change. There was tremendous pride in working with an excellent team of professionals in taking a start up operation and growing it (profitably) to becoming a major, publicly traded player in the Canadian insurance marketplace.

George’s professional career has been focused on specialization; mining underserved market segments; maximizing shareholder value; and operating with the highest level of integrity.

Currently, George gratefully serves as Chairman of Specialty Risk & Intelligence Services Inc. (SRIS) and is particularly excited to work with and support its excellent and like-minded Executive Management group.

George also serves on the Boards of Head Injury Rehabilitation Ontario (also chairing its Finance Committee) and Bereaved Families of Ontario (South Central Ontario).
